I have noticed for many years, that many individuals don’t really pay attention to their health, unless they get a “diagnosis” of some sort from their doctor. They are set in their ways and don’t really feel the need to change anything. This could be from being too busy, not being focused on themselves and/or just taking life as it comes, day by day.
There is nothing wrong with any of the above reasons, however, if you think about it, waiting until a “diagnosis” comes, I feel is not the best way in taking care of yourself, as this way could be deadly in the long run. Wouldn’t it be great if you could learn to change a little at a time, and the end result would be to make those changes lasting for years rather than months or days? If you said “yes” to yourself, then follow my top tips for your health to do daily and consistently.
Here Are My Top Tips To Follow Daily
1. Drink Clean, Filtered Water – A minimum of 7-8 glasses per day
This is more important than you might think. Our bodies are made up of 3/4 water and if you don’t drink enough water daily, you become dehydrated rather quickly! If you are thirsty and then drink, that is fine, however this means you are quite dehydrated already. Keep ahead of your body and drink before you become thirsty, especially in warmer weather. Some symptoms of dehydration are: brain fog, headaches, fatigue, dry skin, feeling dizzy, rapid heartbeat, muscle cramps, and when severe enough, can have a seizure or go into a coma. I believe the symptoms are not worth getting for something quite simple to do. If you don’t like drinking plain water, then I suggest trying fresh lemon or lime squeezed with each glass of water or putting cucumber and fresh mint in pitcher or glass of water or anything else that would help you drink water daily.
It is important to purchase a good water filter to remove toxins and impurities. I can recommend a few. Either email me or put in the comments area for the information. I currently have no affiliation with any water filter companies. I have done enough research, and have used many kinds of filters through the years.
2. Incorporate A Variety Of Colorful Vegetables Into Your Daily Meals
It is known that eating foods rich in vitamins/minerals are crucial for your body. Not only are they nutritious, but also may protect you from various diseases including diabetes, obesity, heart disease and even some cancers. Green vegetables are especially helpful to protect against diseases, as well as strengthening your bones. The recommended daily allowance for vegetables per day is at least 3 cups. While fruit might taste better than vegetables and is easier to incorporate into your diet, it is even more important to focus on vegetables for you and your family. Most adults barely get 2 cups of vegetables in their diet per day. Push yourself and teach your family to shop, prep and cook together with a wide, colorful variety of vegetables. The more colors the better for your body. What is your favorite vegetable? Can you try a new vegetable in each season for a new variety?
3. Get Some Kind Of Exercise/Movement – At Least 3 Times Per Week
Sitting all day at work or home certainly does not help you or your body feel well consistently. I hear very often how people hurt their back, knees, hips, etc. from not even exercising! Your body was meant to move and function properly. Get off the coach or chair and start today! Make sure it is something you enjoy doing and not something you will dread. If you have never exercised or haven’t in awhile, I suggest walking for 10-20 minutes, 2-3 times per week consistently. This is a great time of year to walk outside, where it is not yet cold and less hot/humid. Being in nature, sets a better mood for you and having nice scenery motivates you to keep going.
