The East Coast is getting pretty hot this time of year.  However, with COVID 19, things can be a bit more difficult this summer. We are limited in numbers to go to many beaches.  Many pools are closed for the year.  We need to wear masks in public.  Luckily, some kids are lucky to be able to go to camp, as long as they are safe and keep a safe distance from others. We are now allowed to go to restaurants outside and some inside.  Things are getting a bit better.  Although, many people feel stuck, isolated, hot, bored, unfulfilled, unmotivated, etc.  We can choose to feel this way, or we can choose to be positive and find the silver lining each and every day.  Instead of being a couch potato, you could start doing push-ups and/or sit ups during commercials.  You can go for a walk or run, early or late in the afternoon/evening when it is a bit cooler outside. You can buy light weights and use them 2-3x week to keep your muscles strong.  (for exercise descriptions & pics, check out my book on my website). Try doing yoga.  It feels great!  Try to meditate, even just for 3 minutes!  It helps more than you think! You can organize your home, which you probably wanted to do for a long time.  Now is the time!  Save this activity for a rainy day.  Other rainy day activities to try are paint by number, puzzles, reading your favorite book(s),organizing your pictures, doing home odds/ends projects, and more.

Having your partner or family member during this time can truly help us get through.  However, sometimes, the stress of all going on, can make it very difficult with getting along.  Try to take time-outs to cool off and go into a separate room or area.  Getting heated up over trivial things or even more serious things does not help us at all in general and especially now.  Work things out, and be a team, where you work together, discuss your differences in a civilized manner, and plan fun activities for outlets to release stress and tension.  Some examples could be, riding bikes together, taking walks, try out a drive in movie near you, cook together, go to the beach where it is not overpopulated and see above for rainy day activities.

The more we work together during COVID 19 , the better our country and world will be.  Arguing, getting overheated mentally & physically doesn’t serve us. Here is a recipe to cool you off this summer : SuperAntioxidant Berry Smoothie.  Enjoy!
