This year, we will be celebrating the holidays differently, due to Covid 19. Many of us will be split from our extended families and some of us will be alone. Luckily, we have technology today that allows us to spend time with our families and friends online. We can have a virtual meal together, tell our favorite stories, have a movie night, play some games and make the best of things.
The most important thing to remember, is that we are all in this together. We all are dealing with similar issues and it is a good idea to help support one another. One idea is for each of us to lend a helping hand to our neighbor or friend who doesn’t have family nearby. You can possibly show them or set up their computer for them to receive zoom gatherings with their friends and family.
I would also like for you to get a blank piece of paper and write down at least 10 things you are grateful for this year. It can be small or big, just let the writing flow. You will be surprised that even though things might be difficult, we really do have so much to be grateful for. I’d love for you to share with us some of those things.
For Thanksgiving, you can make an extra side dish to share with your family & friends, so they feel included. Here is a wonderful recipe you can try for the holidays and throughout the winter season. Roasted Root Vegetables . You can show your new dish on zoom or “share” your dish with your friends/family online. You can also relax and have a cup of tea with some good conversation too! Enjoy!
Wishing you and your family a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving!
